Submission Off!!
Whew! I finally sent my e-submission off. I will even admit to feeling a tad letdown after pressing the Send button.

It seemed quite the an anti-climactic event. Oh well. I don't have time to dwell on the feeling though since I'm hard at work on the next story which is a paranormal. The books in my to-be-read pile are so tempting, but I will not pick one up until I have my first draft complete.

Back to writing!

Missing the sound of the Coqui
Back from a much needed vacation to San Juan. Great temperatures (naturally), friendly people, and historical sites, who could ask for more? I was lulled to sleep by the crash of the waves against the shore and the evening tone of the coqui. I tried to find one, but wasn't successful. Maybe next time.

But still, a fine time was had by all and there is the distinct possibility I have kernals of sand permanently embedded between my toes. LOL.

Nicole North
Congratulations to Nicole North who is one of my esteemed critique partners. She has a hot romance, Devil in a Kilt, that will be included in Secrets Volume 27: Untamed Pleasures.

It's available for pre-order now, but releases in July.

Here's the blurb:
A trip to the Highland Games turns into a trip to the past when modern day psychology professor Shauna MacRae touches Gavin MacTavish’s four-hundred-year-old claymore. What she finds is a Devil In a Kilt she’s had erotic fantasies about for months. Can Shauna break the curse imprisoning this shape shifting laird and his clan before an evil witch sends Shauna back to her time?

It's a great story and Nicole can always be counted on to deliver a sensual read. Go Nicole!

Body Mover Series
Whew! I blew through books 4 and 5 of Stephanie Bond's Body Movers series. I read while cooking (and it's a wonder I didn't burn anything), read in the bathtub (insert same concern here) and even while exercising (not surprised I didn't burn calories).

I am on pins and needles waiting for book 6 that drops in early June. I was leaning toward Carlotta picking Jack out of the 3 men who are interested in her. But Cooper is now my front runner followed by Peter and then Jack. I have no idea why Jack fell to the back of the pack.

Oh well, I've become accustomed to reading a new book every month. It'll be hard to adjust after book 6, but somehow I'll make it through.

Tax Season
Are any of you like me - waiting until the last moment to prepare taxes? Each year, I promise myself I'm starting as soon as the books arrive in the mail, but it's a conspiracy, I swear! No matter my intentions, I always end up sprawled out at the table with mounds of paper in front of me, staying up late and cursing at myself because I should've completed them earlier.

I've lost count of how many dents my forehead has made on the paper as I fall asleep while "working" which is why I always re-check my math by using TaxAct Online.

8 days to go. Well, 7 because there's Good Friday and I'm off that day. No wait. 5 days because I probably won't work on them this weekend.

I'm running out of time...

Write or Die
Spring is two days away and things are blooming so the last thing you may want to do is sit and write, right? Me too. But, someone sent me a nifty little link to Write or Die.

It reminds me of a timed writing exercise except with a bit of a maniacal twist. I figured how hard could it be to use. I'm writing and the phone rings. I grab it thinking the caller will be quick. Not really. It's my Dad and you can't exactly rush a parent off the phone no matter your age. So it apparently slips my mind I'm supposed to be doing a timed writing scene. Dad and I chat on and on and all of a sudden my computer makes a loud noise. I glance around to make sure I'm physically alone. I finally realize it's the computer and it must be the Write or Die program. Whew! I was five seconds from slamming the phone down and getting into my best fighting stance.

So, if you need a kick in the patootie, this is the thing to try. Just like there's no stupid question. There's no such thing as "crap" as long as you're writing SOMETHING.

SuperBowl XXIII

I did watch the amazing performance of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals and I must say, I was completely fulfilled as a football fan. I didn't really pull for either side (since my team didn't make it), but it proved to be an exciting game. And the last minute catch Big Ben threw to Santonio Holmes was one for the record books!!
