It's Almost Time to Say Goodbye to 2006!
Omigoodness. This is the last day of November. Only 31 more days to go before I create another well-meaning list of things to accomplish for 2007. Only 31 more days before I rush to try and complete at least ONE of the things on my 2006 list.

Where did the time go? Just yesterday it was January 2006. Do you think I can lose 10 pounds in one month? Yeah, I don't think I can either.

The Cost of Looking Good

As I was attacking a pile of magazine clutter the other night (I don't know why I just don't turn down offers to subscribe. Either I'm a glutton for punishment or the telemarketer catches me in a good mood), I found an article describing the steps to take for the perfect pedicure.

Mind you, I always mean to get regular pedicures, but I'm waiting until my toenails look good enough to have a professional working on them. The articles goes on to say how the cuticles of your toenails should be as soft and pliable as your fingernail cuticles. Huh? Seriously?

Remembering to pay attention to my fingernail cuticles is hard enough, you mean I actually have to bend down and care about the icky skin of my toenails too? Great. Guess that's one more thing to add to the neverending Keep-the-body-up To Do list.

The photo? I'd love to say it's my hand, but the truth is it's my sister's...a nationally-known hand model (who regularly gets mani and pedicures). Maybe I'll bite the bullet and endure a pedicure...then again, maybe I'll just opt to keep sock manufacturers in business.

Searching for Inspiration

It's cold and dreary where I am today. Just the type of weather to make you think of grabbing a cup of tea, a warm throw and curling up with a good book (the one I'm reading by Brenda Jackson is excellent). Or, fantasize that you're at the beach, the sun warming your skin as you surrender every care and worry in favor of pondering crucial world matters, like who has the job of setting the next trend in swimming trunks? Or, how does one get a job at The Warnerco Group, the company that makes Speedo? Wait. Here's a better question, who's in charge of hiring the models?

But since I'm sitting at the computer (and apparently, you are too), what better way to seek inspiration on a dismal day than to discover your fantasy Caribbean island.
